Even though Christmas in Walnut can’t happen this year because of COVID-19, we are excited to offer a way for you and your family to be generous at Christmastime.
There are two ways to be involved this year:
- Join us in encouraging over 500 families from Cunningham Elementary, Irving Elementary and Royal Legacy Christian Academy with a $25 gift card to a local business. With your donation of money, we will buy these gift cards from preselected local businesses. Families will be able to purchase items or treat their children to a restaurant meal. We are working closely with the Family Support Workers at each school to uplift families during this hard year.
- Help stock the “From Me to We” Community Learning Library, an initiative led by a local teacher to create a multicultural community resource for all ages. You’ll be invited to view an online wishlist and choose specific books to donate. Once stocked, the library will be available to all members of the community, including you and your family. Your help in launching this library benefits our community by providing a richly diverse resource to cultivate empathy and understanding.
The link for these giving opportunities will be available November 15-December 15. There will be a few volunteer opportunities available as well.
