Saturday, January 16: Let everything that has breath praise the LORD

Read Psalm 150

On Saturdays we'll worship God through a selection from the Psalms.

Read Psalm 150

Praise the Lord.

Praise God in his sanctuary;

praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his acts of power;

praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,

praise him with the harp and lyre,

praise him with timbrel and dancing,

praise him with the strings and pipe,

praise him with the clash of cymbals,

praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

Reflect

The final psalm in the songbook of the people of God is short and to the point. It encourages us to praise God for a variety of things and in a variety of ways. What do you think is the point of this varied approach to praising our creator?

Respond

During the next day, try to keep this psalm in mind and to take moments here and there to praise God in varied ways, as your activities and circumstances suggest.
