Read Proverbs 27:2

Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth;

an outsider, and not your own lips.

Reflect

Even in the things we do specifically to serve God and serve others, we can find ourselves seeking credit, recognition, and praise. Do you see this in yourself sometimes? Can you find motivation instead in having God, not others, say to you, "Well done, good and faithful servant"?

Respond

Consider right now one act of service or kindness that you could do for someone today totally "undercover," without anyone knowing. Then do it as an offering to God and tell no one.
